Who publishes the Journal
The Georgia Journal is published by Gold Peach Realty, a real estate brokerage that works across North Georgia. We make it because people planning a day or a weekend in the mountain and lake towns deserve one place with clear, dated answers: what is on, when, where, and how far the drive is.
We are not a city, county, chamber of commerce or festival organizer, and we are not connected to any earlier newspaper or magazine with a similar name. The organizers run their events and set their dates, prices and rules; every listing links to them.
Our standards
- An event appears only when its organizer, city, county or chamber has published the 2026 date. We never carry a date forward from last year’s pattern.
- Every date, price, rule and number links to the page that published it, with the date we last checked it.
- Times, prices and addresses appear only when the source states them; otherwise we leave them out.
- Drive times are computed routes on OpenStreetMap data with no traffic, and say so wherever they appear.
- We do not publish invented rankings, crowd counts, ratings or reviews. If we cannot source something, it is not on the page.
- Every picture in the Journal is a real photograph of a North Georgia place. Its author, date and licence are listed on our photo and film credits page, and the short film at the top of the home page is edited together from eight of those same photographs, with no generated footage.
How we use AI
AI tools help us draft; people check every fact before it publishes. Stories are bylined to The Georgia Journal Editorial Team, the people who check them, rather than to an invented author.

Gold Peach Realty also publishes guides to individual towns, lakes and festivals. Each town page here links to the one guide we publish for that town, and we say so. We do not sell rankings, and no business pays to appear.
Corrections and new events
Spotted something out of date, or organizing an event we should list? Use the contact form or write to info@goldpeachrealty.com. We check it against the source before it goes up. Pages show the date they were last checked.
Dates, times and rules can change. Each listing links the organizer or local government page it came from, with the date we checked it; confirm there before you go.
